Here we are again, and it’s been a very busy week internally with some pretty big decisions being made that will change GameGuru for the better for all users, of course these things take time and so we’re afraid that this is another week with lots of progress, but very little solid to report back.
This screenshot from the gallery really caught our eye this week, it’s another contribution from Nuncio and we’re really looking forward to seeing how his game turns out. If these screenshots are anything to go by, we should all be in for a treat.
Sun of a Beach by Nuncio.
We’ve had quite a lot going on in other areas so let’s take a look at what’s new and exciting this week.
Competition
Our latest competition has drawn to a close and we’ve had some great entries, and as usual it was a very difficult decision. As most of you will remember, we asked you all to come up with the best face you could and create a character using the Character Creator.
It took quite some time to choose, but we’ve final whittled down the entries and come up with 5 winners.
Nuncio – Uzi Girl
Stefos – Undead Warrior
Pixel Pusher – Goth Knight
Undead Joe – Alien
VRG – Female Robot
Congratulations to you all, you all win 3,000 store point which we’ll be sending you shortly. Thank you once again for making this such an enjoyable competition to judge.
Store News
The store continues to grow daily with almost all game types covered now. We’re now well over 5300 individual items for sale or for free, so now’s the time to check out the latest uploads and to remind yourself of some of the quality work already available.
First this week, let’s take a look at another critter from Dagored. This time an excellent Deer and Stag. Click on the link below to view the video.

Voting Continues
Don’t forget to keep an eye on the feature vote. If you want to see something new added to GameGuru this is the best way of getting your voice heard, and if you’ve not already done so, now is the time to vote.
So we can be sure we’re developing the features that matter the most to our community your opinion is important.
When voting, don’t forget:
- Features voted towards the “Urgent” right side will score higher marks.
- The more features you mark as “Really need” and “Urgent”, the less these scores will be worth.
- It’s therefore best to choose just a few items that are important to you and score those highly.
- The scoring is live and you can change your votes at any time.
- Your changes are updated immediately so no need to save.
The progressive save and load system is still leading with AI navigation improvements following close behind. If you agree, why not add your vote to one of these, or if you’d prefer to see us work on something else why not vote for that. Every vote counts and will truly help us to develop the product you most want to use
GameGuru update
As the performance work continues, so does the rather limited news. Hot this week however was the rather tough decision to upgrade the underlying Visual Studio editor to 2015 Community Edition. It does mean a slight learning curve for the team, but in the end we’re confident that all of the updated and powerful features will speed up development in the end and help us to bring you a streamlined and much faster engine sooner.
In related news, we’re pleased to say that more media is coming in for the Fantasy pack, which we’ll be updating with lots of exciting new models after the performance work is completed.
