Competition News
With still 4 days to go, the GameGuru screenshot competition is looking very hot indeed. This has seen many, many entries, far more than any other competition to date and we are sure that choosing the final winners will be a difficult task. We’ve chosen a couple at random just to showcase the quality of many of the entries.

A forward look at GameGuru 1.00.002
We expect V1.00.002 of GameGuru to be released this week. We are just running some final tests now. There has been some pretty major additions for this build which will change the way many games look and feel, including a whole host of new fullscreen shader effects:
- Motion Blur
- Depth of Field
- Vignette
We’ve also spent time improving 3rd Person view and adding some much requested camera control:
- Extra camera properties for this gameplay mode
- Improve camera collision
- Added dynamic light effect to any projectile fired by player
- Added ‘Camera Locked’ property to third person camera for isometrics
- Restored system of auto-targeting if in camera locked mode
- Camera X & Y values allows you to shift the camera for different over the shoulder views
- Run Mode will not force camera behind protagonist during game
- ‘Show Reticle’ will control visibility of the third person crosshair
We have also set aside some time for multiplayer work.
- Character Creator characters can now be used as your avatar in multiplayer sessions!
- Chat messages that exceed maximum length are now truncated properly rather than losing the last few characters
- You can no longer pick up weapons and ammo when the final score screen is being displayed
These of course are just a few of the fixes and additions, and we expect more to be added before we release later this week. You can find a full list then in the GameGuru change log.
